The Board of Trustees has authorized 30 days for the public to take time to view, walk, review, and express concerns you may have about the proposed trail. The path is currently flagged beginning at the end of Kent St and follows the undeveloped right-of-way to the creek to the elephant rock property.

Note the enclosed resolution authorizing Parks to establish the community trail.

Please look for the RED FLAGS. The trail will be built approximately 1.5 ft wide.  Construction will be led by professional trained certified trail building leaders, volunteers and Parks Commission members. The bed of the trail will be mainly chipped wood mulch as well as some areas of granite for drainage or where steps are needed.  There will be two temporary breakaway bridges designed to FEMA standards and prepared to install in the next 30 days - one temporary bridge in Glen Park to cross the creek and one temporary bridge to embark onto the elephant rock property.

Please BE CAUTIOUS. Some debris (barbed wire, branches, rocks) still exist along the trail area. Also use care crossing the creek onto the elephant rock property.

Below is a map of the trail for reference. This is the time to offer your input. Feel free to share your concerns directly with Trustee Jessica Farr, or to the Town office by email at info@palmer-lake.org with the subject line Trail, or please call 719-481-2953 to share your concerns with the Town Administrator.
