Parks and Trails Commission

The Parks and Trails Commission is currently comprised of seven citizen members appointed by the Board of Trustees, with the option of an alternate member. Members serve staggered terms of two years and primarily advise on matters pertaining to Town parks, trails and recreation areas. The Commission members may enlist volunteer work groups to assist in developing and maintaining public areas of the town including parks, trails and green space and trails.

The Parks Commission currently meets monthly to study, investigate, counsel, or develop plans for the care and preservation of parks and trails and makes recommendations, when outside the budgeted plans, to the Board of Trustees. The Commission holds one regular meeting and one workshop to plan. Workshops and work group meetings are not required to have a quorum and proceedings are not recorded. No action is taken by the Commission at either.
