In Remembrance of 9/11

The Town of Palmer Lake star will be lit at dusk on Monday, September 11, in remembrance of the lives lost in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Let us remember nearly 3,000 victims including 343 firefighters and paramedics and 71 officers killed. The firefighter deaths on September 11 amounted to more than one third of the approximate 1,000 emergency personnel at the scene, the deadliest incident ever for firefighters and law enforcement officers. Although many paid a terrible price on September 11, firefighters and officers saved thousands of lives on that day. We commend those who serve and will never forget 9/11.
