Short-Term Rentals

The Short-Term Rental Application and Lodging Fee Remittance Forms are for Short-Term Rentals as defined by Ordinance 12 of 2021, Ordinance 4 of 2022, and Ordinance 12 of 2023. A Short-Term Rental (STR) is a dwelling unit that is rented for the purpose of lodging for a period of 1 to 29 days. This is a commercial use of a residential property and is only allowed under the new Town code section 5.08.  Long-term rentals of 30 days or longer are not regulated by the Town.

Please read the application, forms and ordinances carefully, as the property owner is responsible to follow all required regulations. The Town of Palmer Lake does not collect sales tax directly. Please utilize the Colorado sales tax information sheet. If you choose to rent your property on your own, you will be responsible to collect sales tax. If you utilize a property rental company (i.e., AirBnB), they will collect the taxes on your behalf. (Information includes links and contacts for assistance.)

An STR application should be submitted with respective payment to the Town office. If paying online at https://www.townofpalmerlake.com/make-payment, the STR application can be emailed to info@palmer-lake.org with STR in the subject line. Feel free to contact the Town office with questions.
