Park Service Day

Palmer Lake Parks and Trails needs volunteers when available and regularly attending to learn trail building techniques with Parks Commissioner Gene Kalesti, gkalesti@gmail.com. We are grateful for both “willing and ready to learn“ "Some Skill" and “experienced with skills” to help finish building 2070’ of trail and 3 temporary FEMA recommended breakaway bridges. The trail building will be guided and taught by Parks Commission member Gene Kalesti and Bridge Building lead by local Builder/Contractor Richard Willan assisted by Gene Kalesti and others willing to volunteer.   

  • July 15th, 8am to 12pm  New Trail & Bridge work - Meet / Park bottom of Walnut at Greely           
  • July 29th, 8am to 12pm  New Trail & Bridge work - Meet / Park bottom of Walnut at Greely

Also, there are and will be multiple impromptu days that will be posted on Town website, Palmer Lake Parks Commission and Friends and neighbors of Palmer Lake Facebook pages.

Event Description: Come join Palmer Lake Parks and Trails as we perform trail building and trail bridges at Creekside Trail at the NEW (unnamed) TRAIL, at Greeley and Walnut bridge and last at the Chicken Coop on ERock . Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants, bring work gloves, sunscreen, water glasses and snacks. The meet up location is at the bottom of Walnut and Greeley. From there we will be dividing up into teams to accomplish our goals.

No pets are not allowed for safety purposes.

All minors participating in the workday must turn in a hard copy of the liability waiver filled out with parental signature. Liability waiver will be available at event sign-in or is accessible at the link below.
