Snowplow

Please be sure to remove vehicles and other obstacles on roadways prior to snow events. Town plow drivers do their best to clear roadways in a timely manner. They work long hours during these events for the benefit of the community.  Please remember these rules –

  • Please do not park on the roadway or in the right-of-way during the snow event. Plows need room to clear the streets so emergency vehicles can get to you or your neighbor. Section 12.22.035
  • Please do not deposit snow from your property onto the plowed road. It is prohibited by town code. Your yard will benefit from the extra moisture, so please deposit the snow on your own property. Section 12.22.030
  • Please keep trash containers off the roadway so they are not hit during snowplowing.
  • Please do not let children play in roadside snowbanks. As plow drivers clear and remove snow from areas, children could be in danger of snow collapse or being hit by a plow truck.
  • Please try to wear bright reflective clothing if it is necessary to walk along the road in snow events. During snow events, plow trucks may be out at all hours of the night and it is difficult for drivers to see pedestrians.

There are many hazards inherent to snow conditions and residents should use caution when walking or driving in these conditions. Please keep yourself and others safe during snow events and follow town policy.

We thank you for your cooperation because safety is the number one priority.
