Announcement – Town of Palmer Lake

The September 9, 2025 Special Recall Election has been certified for the Town of Palmer Lake. The newly elected Trustees will take their oath of office on Thursday, September 25, 2025, during the regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting.

These are the preliminary results from the Town of Palmer Lake Recall Special Election held on September 9, 2025. The initial tallies for the election are as follows:

1. Recall of Trustee Shana Ball

  • Yes (Recall): 657
  • No (Retain): 467

2. Recall of Trustee Kevin Dreher

  • Yes (Recall): 631
  • No (Retain):489 

3. Ballot Initiative – Ordinance Requiring Voter Approval for Future Annexations

  • Yes (Pass): 765
  • No (Fail): 375

These results are still preliminary and subject to certification by the Town Clerk's office on September 18, 2025.  

On June 30th, the Town Board of Trustees set an election date of Tuesday, September 9, 2025, for the recall of two current Trustees (Shana Ball, Kevin Dreher) and a ballot initiative to consider an ordinance that puts all annexation to the voters. Additional information is noted below. Candidacy papers are available in the town office. Nomination petitions for candidates to be placed on the ballot are due by Monday, July 21, by 5 pm. Please review the information carefully and contact Erica Romero at the Town office with any questions.

Ballots can be dropped off at the Town office M-Th 7:30AM-5:00PM.  On the day of the election, September 9th, Ballots can be dropped off at the Town office from 7:00AM - 7:00PM.
