The Town of Palmer Lake is a statutory town governed by the Mayor and Board of Trustees and appoints the Town Administrator/Clerk to oversee town operations. Departments of the town include Administration, Water, Public Works including Roads and Parks maintenance, Police and Fire services. Additionally, the Board of Trustees appoints the Judge for Municipal Court and the Town Attorney.
